About the Recipe

These crispy, golden chicken wings are made with love and intention. This is a recipe I’ve cooked time and time again with my kids, family, and friends in mind—simple, comforting, and full of flavor that everyone can enjoy. The seasoning is carefully balanced to create a universally loved flavor profile: savory, familiar, and satisfying without being overpowering.

Whether air-fried or deep-fried, these wings come out perfectly crispy on the outside while staying juicy and flavorful on the inside. They’re delicious on their own, but also pair beautifully with any sauce you love, making them perfect for family dinners, gatherings, or game days. This is comfort food, made her way.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs whole chicken wings

  • For crisping:

    • ¼ cup baking powder (for air frying) OR

    • ½ cup cornstarch (for deep frying)

  • ½ tsp seasoning salt

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp chicken seasoning (bouillon)

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Preparation

  1. Cut wings into drums and flats. Pat dry with paper towels.

  2. In a large bowl or zip-top bag, combine wings with seasoning and either baking powder or cornstarch (depending on cooking method). Toss until evenly coated.

Air Fryer Method

  • Preheat air fryer to 380°F.

  • Cook wings for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden.

Deep Frying Method

  • Heat oil in a deep pot to frying temperature (about 350–375°F).

  • Carefully add wings and fry until they float and are deep golden brown.

  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

To Serve

  • Enjoy plain or toss in your favorite sauce while hot. Serve immediately.
